We offer private shooting lessons and shooting schools.
- Private 1x1 lessons are $495 for 3 hours. We’ll provide a comprehensive overview of the Huskemaw system, teach you to shoot confidently and comfortably from the prone position (or other positions as necessary), recoil management, body positioning, grip, use of front / rear supports, target acquisition, shooter/spotter relationship, and compensating for wind. Private lessons occur throughout the year and can be tailored for new or more experienced shooters.
- If you have a scope other than a Huskemaw, we ask the student to understand how to use the scope and obtain “shoot to” distances. This saves time at the lesson and we can focus on fundamentals and shooting.
- Family and group rates available. Call to learn more.
- Our lessons are scheduled between our instructors and the student and are typically very flexible.
- The ACCURIZER SERVICE is a process by which we take a customer's existing rifle and enhance its ability to shoot out to extended ranges. This service consists of professionally mounting a Huskemaw Optic (or optic of your choice) to your rifle, seasoning the barrel (as required), load testing where we find out which load shoots best through your rifle, and then collect ballistic and environmental data from that session in order to etch your custom yardage turret.
- We perform the heavy lifting for you. The work we do on the front end makes for a simple and easy-to-use system on the back end when you have a buck or a bull in your crosshairs.
- Every rifle is unique and different in its own way. By speaking to us at PHS, we can help you to make an informed decision whether investing in your existing rifle is a good option, or to consider getting into a new factory or custom rifle.
- Age and condition of the rifle, caliber consideration, barrel diameter, stock quality, trigger condition, muzzle brake or suppressor, recoil pad condition, if the action bedded, if the barrel is floated, what type of hunting will the rifle be used for, etc.. These are many factors to discuss to identify if your rifle is adequate or if a new system is a better option for you.
Absolutely! There are a lot of differences between hunting the Mid-West / East Coast and the Western U.S. We’re happy to help you get ready for your hunt from start to finish. We can help with rifle selection, the right gear, proper shooting training and even connect you with reputable outfitters. With all the help and prep from PHS, you are coming home with a terrific experience, meat in the freezer and memories to last a lifetime.
- We never tell the rifle what load to shoot, rather we see how the rifle performs and identify what load(s) shoot best. We strive to achieve SUB MOA accuracy from any factory rifle and HALF MOA accuracy from a custom rifle.
- If the customer has a hand-load (custom load) already developed, and is confirmed to shoot at least SUB MOA, the customer can provide us with that specific ammo so we can collect data and create a custom yardage turret.
Yes, PHS can provide additional ammunition as needed.
Yes we do. We are an authorized RAVIN DEALER and can mount the Huskemaw 4x40 Crossfield Crossbow Scope to any crossbow AND get you a custom yardage turret. With some of the more popular RAVIN models we carry ready to go yardage turrets. Any other crossbow make or model, PHS will simply obtain some information about the bow and we can get one custom made.
We have access to most brands of optics, however we’ve been impressed with the features of HUSKEMAW OPTICS and feel they have a number of features critical to hunter success over other optics in their class. Internal bubble level in the TAC scopes, dual stack turrets (2 elevations and 2 temps), and the WIND holds are listed on the turret!!
We’re all about eliminating variables and making extended range shots less complicated. With a HUSKEMAW OPTIC, it’s as easy as RANGE-DIAL-HOLD for WIND-SHOOT.
No complicated ballistic calculators, no DOPE charts taped to your stock, no counting clicks, no electronics that can fail in the moment of truth.
We regularly accurize rifles using Leupold, Nightforce, and Swarovski optics.
We have shop suppressors to use on your rifle, so it is not necessary to send your suppressor into us. Our experience is that a suppressor only changes the point of impact, typically a few inches low at 100yds. By conducting the re-zero, your turret system will work as intended.
The ACCURIZER SERVICE is intended for YOUR existing rifle. Services include: Professional Scope Mount, Barrel Seasoning, Load Testing, Data Collection.
An RTK RIFLE (Ready to Kill) system is pre-built, Ready To Ship and comes as a package. An RTK system is a new factory (or custom rifle) which PHS has performed an ACCURIZER SERVICE on but we’ve accessorized it to create a more complete “package” system including hard case, ammo, windmeter, etc.
RTK packages include a new rifle (make and model can vary depending on availability). We build these systems to include accessories such as pic rails, premium rings, Huskemaw Optics, switchview lever, waterproof scopecoat, bubble level (as needed with Blue Diamond Scopes), hard case, 40 rounds of ammunition and a wind meter. Everything you need to harvest that animal of a lifetime!
Currently, we’re having great success with the Seekins PH3, Seekins Element, Seekins Element Hunter, Springfield Armory Waypoint 2020, Bergara Sierra Wilderness, Bergara Crest, Bergara Crest Carbon, Ruger Gen II, Tikka T3X, Savage 110 Ultralight, Savage 110 Ultralite Elite, CVA Cascade.

Our gunsmith can assemble a rifle if you provide the parts. Consultation required before accepting the job.
You can come here and train with it, but it cannot be transferred. Many customers choose this option however non-Arizona customers will need to have their NEW rifle shipped to an FFL in their home state where the 4473 and background check can be conducted.

We DO NOT load ammunition. We use quality factory ammunition and hand-loaded ammunition from reputable manufacturers like CHOICE, HENDERSHOTS, and COPPER CREEK. The ammunition we test and use will all be excellent hunting loads.
We don’t set the prices for the ammunition we sell. Price is determined by the manufacturer.
Hand loaded ammunition takes more time and is more tedious to prepare than factory ammunition coming off an assembly line.
Factory ammunition, depending on manufacturer may have higher standard deviations (SD) than you’ll find with hand loaded ammunition. Lower SD means more consistency.
