Built around a Curtis Custom Scout short action and a 26″ Proof Research Sendero Lite carbon fiber barrel, this rifle combines the accuracy and consistency expected from a custom rifle with a manageable hunting-oriented platform.

At an asking price of just $2,500, the value here is difficult to overlook. By the time you purchase a premium custom action, Proof Research carbon barrel, composite stock, trigger, muzzle brake and the associated gunsmithing, bedding and assembly, recreating a rifle of this level would typically cost considerably more.

The barreled action is fitted into a JCS Composite stock featuring an adjustable cheek riser and has been glass bedded for a solid, consistent fit. A Timney trigger provides a clean, predictable break, while the stainless steel 3-port muzzle brake helps reduce recoil and improve control for spotting impacts and follow-up shots.

The current owner states that this rifle shoots 147-grain Hornady ELD-M ammunition at approximately 0.5 MOA. The owner also has the load data available for the rifle for a buyer who wishes to handload their own ammunition.
