Built from the proven .375 Ruger case design, the .300 PRC utilizes a non-belted magnum case with a standard .532″ magnum bolt face and headspaces off a 30-degree shoulder. This modern cartridge architecture promotes improved chamber alignment compared to traditional belted magnums while also enhancing feeding reliability and cartridge stacking in detachable and fixed magazine systems.

Hornady designed both the cartridge and chamber specifications simultaneously to optimize alignment, consistency, and overall performance. The result is a highly refined magnum cartridge capable of utilizing temperature-stable magnum rifle powders to produce extremely consistent velocities while helping extend barrel life compared to many traditional magnum cartridges.
