Terminal Performance:

At higher impact velocities from approximately 0–400 yards, the ELD-X® bullet delivers continuous expansion throughout the penetration path. The thick rear jacket shank and InterLock® ring help retain the core and jacket together, typically providing 50–60% retained weight for deep penetration and significant energy transfer.

At extended distances beyond 400 yards where impact velocities are lower, the Heat Shield® tip drives rearward into the bullet to initiate controlled expansion. This creates a large mushroom profile with 85–90% retained weight, producing deep penetration and large wound cavities on game animals.
